Govardhan Parikrama — Full Sacred Circumambulation of Giriraj Ji

Walk the 21 km sacred circuit of the hill Lord Krishna lifted — one of the most powerful acts of devotion in all of Braj

1 Day2–15 PeopleGovardhan, Radha Kund, Kusum Sarovar, Mansi Ganga

Overview

Govardhan Parikrama is one of the most sacred acts of pilgrimage in the Hindu tradition — a full 21 km barefoot circumambulation of Giriraj Ji, the divine hill that Lord Krishna lifted on his little finger for seven days to protect the people of Braj from the fury of Lord Indra's rains. Every step of the parikrama passes through ancient temples, holy kundas, sacred ghats, and spots where Krishna's beloved childhood leelas unfolded. Begin at Jatipura — the 'face' of Giriraj Ji at Mukharwind — then walk through Puchari ka Lotha, Uddav Kund, Chakra Tirth, Govind Kund, Mansi Ganga, Kusum Sarovar, Radha Kund, Shyam Kund, Daan Ghati Temple and Jatipura once more. Vehicle support is available for elders. Completing this parikrama is considered equivalent to visiting all four Hindu Dhams.
